Open-air wedding ceremony right in the centre of Copenhagen

Copenhagen City Hall Square hosts all sorts of celebrations each year – should it also be the venue for your special day?

City Hall Square has been through many changes the last few years with the opening of the new Metro station and the planting of the small ’city forest’ to name a few. In 2023, the Dragon Fountain was re-inaugurated in its original basin right in the middle of the square.

The ceremony will take place by the Dragon Fountain, where the city’s pulse can really be felt.

In case of rain

If the forecast predicts only a few drops or brief showers, the ceremony will take place with the lovely sound of raindrops on umbrellas as a backdrop.

In case the weather does not look suitable for an open-air wedding at all, your ceremony will be moved to one of the beautiful rooms at Copenhagen City Hall.

How to book a wedding appointment

To book an appointment, you must first apply for a certificate of marital status. When your application has been approved, you will receive a link to the booking system. Here, you can choose between the available times at the open-air weddings yourself.

Shortly after you have booked your appointment, you will receive a booking confirmation with further details about the day.
