Cookie policy

We gather information about your visits by using cookies to improve the user experience and to show e.g. interactive maps and use self-service solutions.

This website uses cookies

Cookies are used on almost every website. In certain circumstances cookies are the only way to get a website to function as it should. But you have the option to say no to the use of cookie if you want to. This you can do via the cookie banner, which you meet when entering the site. However, please be advised that there are some elements which will then not function.

We place cookies when you have accepted cookies via the buttons in our cookie banner. You can at any moment change your cookie choices by clicking on Samtykkeindstillinger, which will be placed at the top of the site once you have chosen.

Types of cookies

The City of Copenhagen uses four types of cookies. The necessary cookies make sure that the website functions and can therefore not be turned off, whilst the other types have other functions.

Necessary cookies

Necessary cookies activate basic functions, such as the rejection of cookies and access to secure content. We use Drupal 9 as a content management system.

Functional cookies

Functional cookies make it possible to show interactive maps, forms, videos (23Video) and other font sizes. On certain sites (NemID/contact pages for the citizen service) we use cookies to activate a Link-Bot, who can help lead the citizen to different options we offer, for a better service. Similarly, we have a number of suppliers and supporting systems for various areas, and we have data agreements with them concerning secure use of data.

Statistical cookies

Statistical cookies make it possible to collect anonymous information on the users in order to analyze, which pages and services are used on our websites. We do this in order to adjust our content and to enhance the user experience. We use Siteimprove as a statistical system and Userindex for surveys, and we have data agreements with them concerning secure use of data.

Preference cookies

Preference cookies remember what the user does during their visits to the website (e.g. creating a profile, filling out forms or remember language choice). Currently we do not use any systems for preference cookies.

External links on the website

When we link to other websites,  these wesites will have their own cookie policies and cookie banners, where you can decide which cookies to enable.

When we link to videos, e.g. on YouTube, the provider of the video will not be able to place any cookies unless you choose to play the video on our site.

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a file that is placed on your computer, tablet or smartphone. It makes it possible to recognize your computer and to gather information on, which sites and functions you visit with your browser. But cookies cannot see who you are, what your name is, where you live and whether your computer is used by one person or more. It also cannot spread a computer virus or other harmful programs.

What happens if I reject cookies?

That depends on, which types of cookies you reject on our site. See the different types of cookies we use and why above.

Is it possible to completely reject all cookies?

If you wish to completely avoid cookies generally, you can turn off cookies in your browser. However, you should be aware that you will not be able to log on or use functions and services, that require the website to remember your choices.

All browsers allow you to delete cookies individually or all at once. How you do this depends on, which browser you use. Remember that if you use multiple browsers you will have to delete cookies for all of them.
