Book a registrar

In The Municipality of Copenhagen, we offer the possibility of sending a private registrar to conduct your wedding ceremony at a location and time of your choosing.

The location must be within the Municipality of Copenhagen and cannot be Copenhagen City Hall or the City Hall Garden. For example, you can get married in your garden, in your home, in a park, on a boat, at a restaurant, or at the place where you first met.

Please note that you are responsible for arranging two witnesses to be present during the ceremony.

If you wish, the registrar can also deliver a personal speech based on your own contributions and input.

You may only submit a request for a registrar once your notice of marriage has been approved, and you may only 
request a date within the validity period of the approval.

In your email, please provide:

• Where you would like the ceremony to take place (address within the Municipality of Copenhagen)
• Your preferred wedding date
• The preferred time of day (please indicate if you are flexible regarding the time)
• Your full names
• And, if your marriage approval was not issued by the Municipality of Copenhagen, your case number/trial number.

The fee for booking a marriage officiant is DKK 2,732. Payment instructions will be provided when you receive the final confirmation.
