Amager Beach Park
If you want to have a classic beach wedding then Amager Beach Park is the place for you! Here you can celebrate with sand under your feet right by Øresund Strait which separates Denmark and Sweden.
Amager Strandpark is situated close to metro stations and bus stops.
The ceremony will take place on the beach at Beach Station 2 (Strandstation 2) which you will find continuing over the Kilometre Bridge (Kilometerbroen) which runs towards the beach from Amager Strandvej across from Italiensvej.
Saturday the 5th of August 2017, starting at 10.00am.
The open air weddings are informal and held in the conditions the localities offer. Amager Beach is a public place and therefore you must expect curious looks from other guests on the beach.
Parts of the area are listed, so you are not allowed to put up tents or play loud music amongst other things, but you are very welcome to have an open air picnic.
In case the weather does not seem suitable for open air ceremonies, the event will be moved to one of the beautiful rooms at Copenhagen City Hall. We will send you an e-mail the day before your wedding, if the event is moved.
History of the Place
Amager Beach Park is the largest beach in Copenhagen. It consists of a two km long artificial island that creates a lagoon which is approximately 400 metres wide.
The artificial island was built during the remake of Amager Strand in 2005. The remake has had a positive influence on the beach life in and around Copenhagen, and Amager Strand is used not only for swimming but also for biking, running and skating.
